Residential property protection
A practical planning guide: the building’s use changes project constraints, but suitability still depends on the material, condition and specific product.
Start with the condition of the house
A weathered finish and a leaking roof require different interventions. Record the material, previous work and visible signs: peeling paint, corrosion, damaged shingles or water marks. An inspection helps determine whether surface maintenance is enough or repairs must come first. Take photos from a safe location without climbing onto the roof.
Choose for each surface
A metal roof needs a system compatible with its finish and condition. For shingles, ask the manufacturer to accept the specific treatment. For a deck, identify the wood and existing finish. On pavers, check previous sealers and desired appearance. One property may require several systems; do not assume a universal formula.
Plan around daily life
Clarify protection for windows, vehicles, plants and neighbouring areas, along with access that must remain available. Ask when the deck or driveway can be used, based on product instructions and actual conditions. Compare quotes with the same repairs and preparation rather than only price per square foot.
