Agricultural building protection

A practical planning guide: the building’s use changes project constraints, but suitability still depends on the material, condition and specific product.

Identify each building’s use

Storage buildings, workshops and buildings occupied by animals have different constraints. Describe use, operating hours, ventilation and sensitive areas before choosing work. A roof coating is not automatically approved for food, drinking-water or animal contact; these uses require specific confirmation.

Assess the roof before coating

Have panels, fasteners, flashing and corroded areas assessed. Describe moisture conditions and substances to which the building is exposed so the contractor can verify system suitability. An exterior coating alone does not correct ventilation problems, infiltration or corrosion on an inaccessible face.

Coordinate work with operations

Define areas to protect, any relocation of vehicles or equipment and required access. Request a site-appropriate method for handling residues and overspray. Preparation, drying and weather windows should be included in the work schedule. The quote should specify exclusions and responsibilities.

YOUR PROJECT

Find a contractor for your project

Have your metal roof painted, or request a nanotechnology treatment for asphalt shingles, exterior wood or interlocking pavers. Describe your project so the team can check contractor availability in your region.
